9 minutes from the workshop

Your Cambridge Park plumber. Up the highway, not up the M4.

Cambridge Park sits just up the Great Western Highway from our workshop — nine minutes door to door. We’ve been working its post-war and 1960s–70s streets, fibro and brick veneer alike, for more than two decades. You get the same arrival window and the same plumber you’d get standing in the Penrith CBD.

§02 / Why Cambridge Park calls us

Cambridge Park plumbing, by people who know the post-war fibro-and-brick street.

Cambridge Park was built out through the post-war years and the 1960s and 70s — a mix of original fibro cottages and brick-veneer homes on standard suburban blocks. It’s older housing stock than a lot of Penrith, which means original copper, galvanised waste lines, and the aging gutters and downpipes that struggle every time a Western Sydney storm rolls through.

That’s the difference between a Penrith-based plumber who’s worked these streets for two decades and a Sydney plumber driving up the M4 with a “Cambridge Park 2747” landing page.

Nine minutes from us to your front door.

The workshop is in Penrith and the Great Western Highway runs straight up to Cambridge Park. We’re not coming from Sydney, we’re coming from across town — and we work standard hours through the week. When we book in, we’ll give you a target arrival window.

We know the fibro-and-brick housing stock.

Original post-war fibro cottages, 1960s and 70s brick veneer, the odd home that’s been added onto over the decades. Old copper, galvanised waste, and roof plumbing that predates the storms it now has to cope with. We’ve replaced plenty of it.

Close to the CBD and the highway.

Cambridge Park sits north of the line along the highway, an older established part of the LGA. We’re across the local network — which streets sit low, where the original earthenware drains run, and which roofs shed water badly in a downpour. Local knowledge saves you guesswork on the quote.

§03 / Cambridge Park on the map

North of the line. Same home zone.

Cambridge Park, Cambridge Gardens, Werrington and Kingswood — the northern, highway side of the Penrith LGA is part of the run we do every day. Up the Great Western Highway, around the older streets, and back to base by knock-off.

§05 / Cambridge Park has its quirks

A post-war suburb on aging pipework and old roof plumbing.

Cambridge Park was largely built out through the post-war years and the 1960s and 70s. A lot of that original copper, galvanised pipework and roof plumbing is still in service, and the storms have only got heavier. We see the same failures over and over.

Q.01 Old gutters

Aging gutters can’t cope with the storms.

Cambridge Park’s older homes run gutters and downpipes sized and fitted decades ago, and Western Sydney storms have only got fiercer. They overflow, back up under the eaves, and let water into the fascia. We clear, repair and replace roof plumbing so the next downpour goes where it should.

Roof and gutters
Q.02 Galvanised waste

Galvanised waste lines are rusting through.

Original post-war and 60s homes here often still run galvanised steel waste lines, and after this long they rust from the inside out. You get slow drains, recurring blockages and the odd leak in the wall. We replace failing sections in PVC so the problem doesn’t just come back.

Drain work
Q.03 Heat stress

40-degree summers kill hot water units.

Cambridge Park runs five to seven degrees hotter than the coast. Standard 10-year hot water units regularly tap out at year seven or eight — same brands, same age, every year. We can usually swap and dispose of the old unit in the one visit.

Hot water replacements
Q.04 Old copper

Post-war copper is near the end of the line.

Plenty of Cambridge Park homes still run the original copper from when they went up. Pinhole leaks, green-tinged joints, pressure dropping for no obvious reason. Often it’s not one repair, it’s a section replacement — and we’ll tell you straight which it is.

Hot water and pipework
Q.05 Mains pressure

Street pressure finds tired fittings.

Mains pressure through Cambridge Park can sit on the high side, and a pressure limiting valve is what keeps it in check. When the valve ages out you’ll hear hammering, see weeping mixers, or find the toilet inlet valve failing. We test the pressure and sort the valve.

§07 / Cambridge Park questions

What Cambridge Park locals ask before they book.

The questions that come up over and over. Plain answers, no hedging.

Do you actually service Cambridge Park, or just Penrith?
Cambridge Park is nine minutes up the Great Western Highway from our Penrith workshop, so it’s on our regular run. Standard hours are 7am to 4pm weekdays, Mon to Sat. When we book in we’ll give you a target arrival window.
My gutters overflow every storm. Can you sort the roof plumbing?
Yes — it’s one of the most common jobs we do in Cambridge Park. The older homes run gutters and downpipes that simply can’t shift the volume modern storms bring. We clear, repair or replace them so the water gets carried away instead of pouring over the edge.
My place is an old fibro or brick veneer. Will you take it on?
Yes — Cambridge Park’s post-war fibro and brick-veneer stock is exactly what we work on most. Original copper, galvanised waste lines, earthenware drains, old roof plumbing. We’ll tell you straight whether the right call is a patch or a section replacement.
How fast can you get to my Cambridge Park address?
Our standard hours are 7am to 4pm weekdays, Mon to Sat. When we book in we’ll give you a target arrival window, not a four-hour blob. After 4pm and weekends carry an uplifted rate, disclosed before we book in.
What do you charge for a Cambridge Park call-out?
Our call-out is factored into the first hour’s charge during standard hours, so you don’t see a separate line item. After-hours work carries an uplifted rate, disclosed before we book in. Phone quotes for straightforward jobs are free.
What’s your workmanship guarantee?
12 months on workmanship, parts and labour both. If something we did fails inside that window, we come back and fix it. No excess, no fine print. Manufacturer warranties on units pass through to you separately.
