12 minutes from the workshop

Your St Marys plumber. Across town, not across Sydney.

St Marys sits at the eastern edge of the Penrith LGA, twelve minutes down the Great Western Highway from our workshop. We’ve been working post-war fibro cottages off Forrester Road and pulling backflow tests on Dunheved industrial sites for more than two decades. You get the same arrival window and the same plumber as if you were calling from the Penrith CBD.

§02 / Why St Marys calls us

St Marys plumbing, by people who actually know the housing stock.

St Marys isn’t one suburb, it’s three. The post-war cottages off Forrester Road and around Queen Street. The 1980s brick veneer on the Werrington side. And the newer infill apartments going up along the rail line. Each one fails a different way.

That’s the difference between a Penrith-based plumber who’s been across this suburb for two decades, and a Sydney plumber driving up the M4 with a “St Marys 2760” landing page.

Twelve minutes from us to your front door.

The workshop is in Penrith. The Great Western Highway runs straight through to St Marys. We’re not driving from Sydney, we’re driving across town — and we work through standard hours during the week. When we book in, we’ll give you a target arrival window.

Post-war housing stock, and we know it.

St Marys has more 1950s and 1960s fibro and brick veneer than just about anywhere in Western Sydney. That means old copper, old galvanised waste pipes, and original drainage that’s been moving sluggish for forty years. We’ve replaced plenty of it.

Dunheved Industrial Estate is on our doorstep.

Manufacturing, warehousing, transport depots. We do backflow installs and annual compliance testing across the Dunheved and Forrester Road precincts. SWMS, certs of currency, account terms. The industrial side of St Marys keeps us busy every week.

§03 / St Marys in the LGA

Eastern edge of the LGA. Same home zone.

St Marys, Werrington, Cambridge Park, Erskine Park — the eastern half of the Penrith LGA is the run we do every day. Across the rail line, around the industrial estates, and back to base by knock-off.

§05 / St Marys has its quirks

A post-war suburb sitting on seventy-year-old plumbing.

St Marys was largely built out in the 1950s and 1960s. A lot of that original copper, galvanised pipework and clay-based drainage is still in the ground. We see the same failures over and over.

Q.01 Old copper

1950s copper mains are at the end of the line.

A lot of the original St Marys homes still run the same copper installed sixty-plus years ago. Pinhole leaks under slabs, green-tinged joints, water pressure dropping for no obvious reason. Often it’s not one repair, it’s a section replacement. We’ll tell you straight.

Hot water and pipework
Q.02 Tree roots

Established trees, old earthenware drains.

St Marys streets are lined with sixty-year-old gum trees and figs. The original drainage on those properties is often vitrified clay pipework with rubber-ring joints. Roots find every joint. We jet, root-cut, and CCTV the line so you know if it needs relining or replacing.

Drain work
Q.03 Heat stress

40-degree summers kill hot water units.

St Marys runs five to seven degrees hotter than the coast. Standard 10-year hot water units around Forrester Road and the Queen Street area regularly tap out at year seven or eight. Same brands, same age, every year. We can usually swap and dispose of the old unit in the one visit.

Hot water replacements
Q.04 Industrial estates

Dunheved sites are on annual compliance clocks.

Backflow devices, emergency showers and eyewash stations on Dunheved and Forrester Road estates need annual compliance testing. We’ll book in around your operations, supply SWMS upfront, and handle the Sydney Water certificate paperwork for you.

Backflow compliance
Q.05 Reno wave

Older homes, new bathrooms going in.

St Marys is in the middle of a renovation surge. We do the plumbing scope for bathroom and kitchen renos in older fibro and brick veneer homes, where the original wet area drainage often needs to come out and start again. Rough-in to fit-off, working to your builder’s program.

§07 / St Marys questions

What St Marys locals ask before they book.

The questions that come up over and over. Plain answers, no hedging.

Do you actually service St Marys, or just Penrith?
St Marys is twelve minutes down the Great Western Highway from our Penrith workshop, so it’s on our regular run. Standard hours are 7am to 4pm weekdays, Mon to Sat. When we book in we’ll give you a target arrival window. The trucks roll through St Marys, Werrington and Cambridge Park as a normal run.
My place is a 1960s fibro. Will you take it on?
Yes — St Marys’ post-war housing stock is exactly what we work on most. Original copper, galvanised waste lines, earthenware drains, the lot. We’ll tell you straight whether the right call is a patch or a section replacement, and we won’t oversell either way.
Do you do backflow testing on the Dunheved estate?
Yes. Backflow installs and annual compliance testing across Dunheved, Forrester Road, and the surrounding industrial estates is core work for us. SWMS supplied before we arrive, certs of currency on file, and we handle the Sydney Water test certificate paperwork for you. Account terms available.
How fast can you get to my St Marys address?
Our standard hours are 7am to 4pm weekdays, Mon to Sat. When we book in we’ll give you a target arrival window, not a four-hour blob. If we’re running behind, we ring you with a new time. After 4pm and weekends carry an uplifted rate, disclosed before we book in.
What do you charge for a St Marys call-out?
Our call-out is factored into the first hour’s charge during standard hours, so you don’t see a separate line item. After-hours work carries an uplifted rate, disclosed before we book in. Phone quotes for straightforward jobs are free. We don’t run a meter on questions.
Can you handle a full bathroom or kitchen reno plumbing scope?
Yes. Rough-in, fit-off, hot water relocations, gas line extensions, fixture install. We work to your builder’s program, or we’ll coordinate the plumbing scope ourselves if you’re owner-building. Older St Marys homes often need waste lines replaced as part of the reno — we’ll flag that during the quote, not on the day.
What’s your workmanship guarantee?
12 months on workmanship, parts and labour both. If something we did fails inside that window, we come back and fix it. No excess, no fine print. Manufacturer warranties on units pass through to you separately, and we’ll handle the claim if it’s something we installed.
§08 / Book a St Marys plumber

St Marys. Covered. Done properly.

Ring the workshop and book in on the spot. Or send the job through and we’ll come back with a real number within 48 hours. Either way, it’s a Penrith-based plumber on the other end, twelve minutes from your front door.
