Your Jamisontown plumber. Across Mulgoa Road, not across Sydney.

Jamisontown sits straight down Mulgoa Road from our workshop — six minutes door to door, right past Panthers and down toward the river flats. We’ve been working the brick-veneer streets and the townhouse blocks off the retail strip for more than two decades. §02 / Why Jamisontown calls us

Jamisontown plumbing, by people who know the strip, the brick veneer and the townhouses.

Jamisontown was built out through the 1970s and 1980s — solid brick-veneer homes on standard suburban blocks, with newer townhouses and units filling in along the Mulgoa Road retail strip. It’s a mixed bag of housing stock, and the plumbing under it ranges from fifty-year-old copper to newer mains-pressure systems in the unit blocks.

That’s the difference between a Penrith-based plumber who’s worked these streets for two decades and a Sydney plumber driving up the M4 with a “Jamisontown 2750” landing page.

Six minutes from us to your front door.

The workshop is in Penrith and Mulgoa Road runs straight into Jamisontown past Panthers. We’re not coming from Sydney, we’re coming from across town — and we work standard hours through the week. When we book in, we’ll give you a target arrival window.

We know the mix of houses and townhouses.

Detached brick veneer on the older streets, townhouses and unit blocks closer to the strip. Older homes run fifty-year-old copper and galvanised waste; the newer blocks run mains-pressure systems and shared service lines. We’ve worked both, and we know where they differ.

Right next to Panthers and the river.

Jamisontown backs onto the Nepean flats and sits beside the Panthers precinct. We’re across the local network — which streets sit low toward the river, where pressure runs high off Mulgoa Road, and which older blocks still run earthenware drains. Local knowledge saves you guesswork on the quote.

§05 / Jamisontown has its quirks

A mixed-era suburb on Mulgoa Road’s busy edge.

Jamisontown spans 1970s–80s brick veneer through to newer townhouses and units along the retail strip. The plumbing reflects that spread — old copper and earthenware on one street, shared mains-pressure systems on the next. We see the common failures across both.

Q.01 Old copper

1970s copper is near the end of the line.

Plenty of Jamisontown’s detached homes still run the original copper from when the suburb went up. Pinhole leaks, green-tinged joints, pressure dropping for no obvious reason. Often it’s not one repair, it’s a section replacement — and we’ll tell you straight which it is.

Hot water and pipework
Q.02 Townhouses

Shared walls, shared drainage headaches.

The townhouse and unit blocks off the strip often run shared service lines and common drainage. When something blocks or leaks, the tricky part is working out whose fixture is the cause. We CCTV the line and trace it back so the right unit wears the fix, not the whole block.

Drain work
Q.03 Heat stress

40-degree summers kill hot water units.

Jamisontown runs five to seven degrees hotter than the coast. Standard 10-year hot water units regularly tap out at year seven or eight — same brands, same age, every year. We can usually swap and dispose of the old unit in the one visit.

Hot water replacements
Q.04 Mains pressure

High pressure off Mulgoa Road finds tired fittings.

Mains pressure through Jamisontown can sit on the high side, and a pressure limiting valve is what keeps it in check. When the valve ages out you’ll hear hammering, see weeping mixers, or find the toilet inlet valve failing. We test the pressure and sort the valve, or fit a booster where pressure runs low instead.

Taps and mixers
Q.05 Mixer swaps

Units and townhouses, worn mixer cartridges.

Across the unit and townhouse stock we’ve usually done the same job on the street next door — a dripping kitchen or bathroom mixer that just needs the cartridge swapped, not the whole tap replaced. We carry the common cartridges and sort most of them in the one visit.

§07 / Jamisontown questions

What Jamisontown locals ask before they book.

The questions that come up over and over. Plain answers, no hedging.

Do you actually service Jamisontown, or just Penrith?
Jamisontown is six minutes down Mulgoa Road from our Penrith workshop, past Panthers, so it’s on our regular run. Standard hours are 7am to 4pm weekdays, Mon to Sat. When we book in we’ll give you a target arrival window.
I’m in a townhouse off Mulgoa Road. Can you sort shared drainage?
Yes — we work the townhouse and unit blocks around the strip regularly. Shared service lines and common drainage make it tricky to pin down the cause, so we CCTV and trace the line to find which fixture is at fault before anyone starts paying for a fix.
How fast can you get to my Jamisontown address?
Our standard hours are 7am to 4pm weekdays, Mon to Sat. When we book in we’ll give you a target arrival window, not a four-hour blob. After 4pm and weekends carry an uplifted rate, disclosed before we book in.
What do you charge for a Jamisontown call-out?
Our call-out is factored into the first hour’s charge during standard hours, so you don’t see a separate line item. After-hours work carries an uplifted rate, disclosed before we book in. Phone quotes for straightforward jobs are free.
My kitchen mixer drips. Do I need a whole new tap?
Usually not. Across Jamisontown’s units and townhouses we’ve done the same job next door plenty of times — most drips are a worn cartridge, not a dead tap. We carry the common cartridges and sort the bulk of them in the one visit.
What’s your workmanship guarantee?
12 months on workmanship, parts and labour both. If something we did fails inside that window, we come back and fix it. No excess, no fine print. Manufacturer warranties on units pass through to you separately.
